Volterrateatro of the New World The English web site version gives a general overview of the Festival, for more details refer to the Italian version The XIX edition of VOLTERRATEATRO FESTIVAL, organized by Carte Blanche Association and artistically directed by Armando Punzo, has run from Monday 18 July to Sunday 31 July 2005 in Volterra and Pomarance, Castelnuovo V.C., Montecatini V.C. and Monteverdi M.mo. The Festival is promoted by: Comune di Volterra, Regione Toscana, Provincia di Pisa, Comuni di Pomarance, Castenuovo V.C., Montecatini V.C., Monteverdi M.Mo, Comunità Montana Alta Val di Cecina, Azienda Asa-Livorno, Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra S.p.A., Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Volterra. In collaboration with Consorzio Turistico di Volterra Val di Cecina Val d'Era 
VolterraTeatro wants to build a "new world", involving philosophers, economists, scientists, men of knowledge together with new play writers and the audience to create a possible new world profile. Volterrateatro becomes Third Millennium Agorà, heart of the city and of the free exchange of ideas and experiences, where people can meet and develop relationships. A place where there are no differences of age, race and religion, but the need to find the great ideals once more and to harmonize them to our time. We think that there are in different field, people and ideas that work in the same direction and have to find a common place where audience can meet and know them. During my eighteen years-experiences in prison with my collaborators, we have been proving the possibility to change a very severe prison through our artistic action. This make us hope, that something concrete can still be done. We would be pleased to meet you in this third Millennium Agorà. We wait for you. Armando Punzo
